September’s inaugural Festival of Sport will include a sportive with 100 and 150km ride options through west Cornwall on Saturday September 15.
Organised by Participate Sport, the team behind the Dragon Ride, Etape Cymru and Cycletta, the Festival of Sport is a three-day event focussed on cycling, triathlon, beach running and open water swimming.
Sportive riders will enjoy routes taking in St Michael’s Mount, Cape Cornwall, Land’s End, Penzance and The St. Just Mining District, and the event will have electronic chip timing, finish line filming, photography, medals, mechanical support and secure bike storage. A 40km women-only Cycletta ride will also take place.
The festival will include live music and entertainment (with headline music acts to be announced), locally sourced food by Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts and a beer tent run by the St Austell Brewery.

Entry costs £35 for the 100km ride and the Cycletta event, with the 150km route priced at £39. Camping is available for £10 per person while entry to the festival’s evening entertainment is an additional £20.
