New pump and tool tech from Lezyne

Air Bleed System is a neat new idea from Lezyne that, as its name suggests, allows air to be bled, or released –  in this case from the hose of any 2012 model Lezyne floor or hand pump. Why would you want to do it? Releasing the compressed air trapped between the pump and tube valves after inflation is complete lessens the grip of the Lezyne threaded chuck on the tyre valve, making it easier to unscrew. It also obviates the risk of blowing the small O-ring out of the chuck at high inflation pressures and, when using the pump on a Schrader valve, allows tyre pressure to be regulated downwards by bleeding off a small amount at a time.

On hand pumps it forms part of the ABS Flex Hose, while on floor pumps it is the ABS section of the ABS Flip-Thread Chuck and is retro-fittable to existing Lezyne floor pumps.

“Shop” standard workshop tools join the Lezyne catalogue for 2012. Featuring two handle finish options – CNC (extruded aluminium tube) and Classic (wooden) for the “Rod” long-handled tools, the range includes chain whips, bottom bracket bearing cup sockets with cassette lockring remover, pedal spanners, spoke keys and Allen keys along with a choice of regular and 11-speed specific chain tools. Lezyne’s usual design flair, fit and quality of finish come as standard.
