Herne Hill Velodrome is due to reopen on September 3 after getting a long-awaited new track.
The track has been resurfaced using a velodrome-specific covering called MasterTrack, which contains fine granite stones and is exceptionally smooth, hard and dense, making it ideal for track racing.
These photos, courtesy of the Save the Velodrome Campaign, show how the refurbishment work is progressing at the south London venue.
