These handbuilt Pro-Lite Bracchiano wheels have just arrived at RoadCyclingUK for review. The top line? The weight. Pro-Lite say 1450g, although ours clocked in at 1510g (without skewers). Still, that’s very good for the £349.99 retail price.
The wheels, which sit only beneath the Gavia hoops in Pro-Lite’s range, run on 27mm deep 6066 aluminium rims laced to 20 double butted stainless aero spokes in a radial pattern at the front and 24 in a 2-cross pattern at the rear. The hubs contain EZO bearings (two in the front hub, five in the rear), which promise a “very low rolling resistance compared to standard sealed bearing wheels,” according to the manufacturer.
Alloy T73 nipples and alloy skewers complete the look. Two finishes are available; the silver colourway pictured and black.
