11 wins for Cavendish

11 wins for Cavendish this season, so far…

At the Circuit Franco-Belge last weekend, Mark Cavendish netted his 11th win, an impressive feat considering the 22-year-old is still in his first season as a pro rider.

“I’ve reached my target and I’m about delighted about that,” said the 22-year-old Cavendish. “We miscalculated things a bit in the sprint yesterday and that cost me, but things ran so smoothly today.”

The latest win has edge the Manx rider ahead of top sprinter Robbie McEwen, when in his first season the Australian rider won eight races.

This is the latest fantastic news for British cycling, which is certainly enjoying a substantial high, following Jonathan Bellis winning a bronze medal in the World Championships recently. Long may it continue.
