Multiple former motorcycle world champion and current Moto GP rider Loris Capirossi joined world road champion Paolo Bettini at the Milan Show on Saturday for a spectacular unscheduled blast around the Salone del Ciclo track, which hosted the ‘Bikes4Show’ event.

The two Italian two-wheel stars, who are both sponsored by footwear manufacturer Sidi. Bettini rides special rainbow coloured examples of Sidi’s Ergo 2 Carbon cycling shoes while Capirossi races in Vertigo Corsa boots. The moto racer is a fan of pedal-powered sport. ‘I really like cycling,’ Capirossi said; ‘I always take my bike with me when I am away taking part in Grands Prix. I’ve got three bikes. Part of my training routine includes cycling as it is great for general athletic preparation. I saw Paolo riding on the track and was really impressed with how he rides those parabolic corners.’

Said Bettini; ‘Loris is a real champion. I’m really glad he came to see us here. Loris and I aren’t just connected by the Sidi brand; track cycling and Moto GP have lots of things in common: speed, adrenalin and spectacle, you need to be a bit crazy and fearless to race on these tracks… just like motorbike racers’.

The ‘Bikes4Show’ event also saw Paolo Bettini coupled with Marco Villa to win the evening’s final race.
