Ten years after winning his maiden Tour stage, Cedric Vasseur added his second on the mostly flat stage to Marseille, outsprinting his remaining four breakaway companions at the end of a 229.5km stage that initially saw an 11-man breakaway group go clear after 80km.
Michael Rasmussen finished with the peloton, rolling in over ten minutes behind the breakaway group and retaining the yellow jersey for another day.
