Danilo Napolitano (Lampre) showed fine form to beat McEwen and Petacchi on the 177km stage into Lido Di Camaiore on Monday. The T-Mobile team kept Marco Pinotti’s in the pink jersey.
“What a beautiful victory,” Napolitano said. “Today I do everything perfectly, so when the sprint began I thought that I could not fail. I dedicate the victory to Galbusera family, owner of Lampre, and to sponsor Fondital and to all the other partners that support us”.
