You’ll have gathered from the title that the FullPro is built from Scandium. Scandium, a rare material in itself, is added to aluminium to improve strength. But aluminium is strong enough you’re probably thinking. Well, the increase in strength allows for less material and thinner wall diameters to be used, so it can result in a lighter frame.
The frame only weight is 1,305g, not radically light but certainly no heavyweight. The TIG welded tubes are triple butted and also triple hardened. The rear seat and chainstays are carbon for a little extra compliance with aluminium dropouts, while the rear seat stays have a split monostay design, the first time we’ve seen anything like this.
Of the shelf the bike comes with a full Ultegra groupset, and a carbon finishing kit in the shape of ITM KSword bar, stem and post. The forks are aero shaped carbon Swords. The bar and stem combo aren’t that attractive in our opinion, lets hope they ride better than they look. Mavic Ksyrium Equipe wheels with Continental Grand Prix 4000 rubber finishing of the package.
Available in nine sizes, the complete bike with full Ultegra drivetrain can be yours for just £2319 – this is a great price considering you get a Scandium frame. Frame only price £859.
We’re giving it a thorough test over the next few months, we’ll keep you updated.
