Museeuw ends negotiations with Pedaltech

Lugged MF1 would have been nice team bike

2008 iF Product Design Awards winner Museeuw Bikes has taken the decision not to continue negotiations with Pedaltech/Cyclingnews for the supply of bicycles and support to the team in 2008.

The decision has been taken in the light of the failure of Pedaltech/Cyclingnews to secure a professional Continental licence and the subsequent and related withdrawal of some riders from negotiations with the team for the 2008 season.

“It is a great pity that we have felt it necessary to end our talks with the Pedaltech team,” commented Fangio Reybrouck, Marketing and Sales Director for Museeuw Bikes, “but we feel that the gap between professional Continental teams and those below that level of competition is too great for there to be a beneficial link-up between ourselves and the team. It is a purely commercial decision and we of course wish the Pedaltech team all the best in the future.”

Museeuw Bikes will continue to support and supply machines to the Avia junior squad and to the Belgian-based Swift Racing ladies’ team which recently took both first and second spots in the GB National Cyclo-Cross Championships.
