Pierrick Fedrigo (FDJ-BigMat) triumphed on stage 15 of the Tour de France on the final day of racing before the peloton heads in the Pyrenees.

Fedrigo outsprinted Christian Vande Velde (Garmin-Sharp-Barracuda) after the duo got away in the day’s break, with the peloton happy to let the six riders go on to contest the finish.

Six men formed the day’s break after more an hour of racing, with Fedrigo then jumping away with Vande Velde in the final kilometres

And Fedrigo comfortably outsprinted the American to claim victory

Thomas Voeckler (Europcar) beat Nicki Sörensen (SaxoBank-Tinkoff) to third

The peloton rolled in more than 11 minutes later, with Bradley Wiggins (Team Sky) defending his overall lead

The victory was an emotional Fedrigo’s fourth at the Tour de France (his last, in 2010, was also in Pau)
