The ethos behind RIDE clothing is to provide practical cycling kit at a good price and the company have applied that to their new winter range.
RIDE clothing is designed in the UK by a group of long-time riders who have worked in the cycling industry for years, developing, testing and selling kit across a range of brands.
“The people who work at RIDE are not pro riders and neither are the people buying most cycle clothing,” they told us. “The lack of a team car and not being able to ignore work or family to pick when to go riding means practicality, visibility and all-weather comfort is high on the design brief.
“Innovative ideas like zipped-waterproof smartphone pockets, IQ Seen reflective areas, Aquazero water repellent treatment and ergonomically shaped pocket access all stem from this focus.”
Five items make up the new collection and every item is made in Italy, with a athletic cut – rather than skin-tight – that they say compliments the rider.
The BDS Long Sleeve Jersey (£49.99) is lined with a fleecy Roubaix for added insulation and comfort, while features include a full-length zip, reflective logo and zipped security pocket.
Next up, the Aquazero Pro Bib Tights (£54.99) help stave off the British winter thanks to a water repellent coating. There’s a zip at the front to provide extra protection against the wind, while also ensuring comfort breaks are still a realistic possibility. Meanwhile, the Roubaix Bib Tights (£34.99) don’t get the Aquazero treatment but are fleece-lined – and you’ll be £20 better off.
Moving on, the Aquazero Pro Arm Warmers (£19.99) promise a multi-panel anatomic fit, held in place with silicon grippers and finally, the Aquazero Skull Cap (£8.99) is made from a softshell water repellent material at the front and Roubaix fabric at the rear.
