Assos earlyFall Interactive baselayer £98.99
The new earlyFall Interactive baselayer uses what Assos likes to call “Body +/- pattern zoning”, which simply means there’s a heavier material on the front and top of the arms, while a lighter weight material is smoothly stitched into places like the underarms and armpits where less insulation is needed.
As with most Assos garments tested, the fit is excellent. Care needs to be taking when choosing the size however; I tested a medium and it came up very tight, but once in place provided the second skin feel that a baselayer needs in order to work as effectively as possible.
In practise, the earlyFall Interactive works supremely well and goes about its business of mopping up excess sweat and keeping your torso warm and dry without fuss or any undue side effects. The material has a ‘push pull’ effect so that sweat is quickly transferred from your skin to the next layer to deal with, and Bacteriostatic fibers prevent unpleasant odors even after the most intense efforts.
Verdict
In use it is really noticeable how well the baselayer is working, and we remained noticeably drier even during hard efforts than other baselayers tested.
