CTC Southern Challenge Ride

The Southern Challenge Ride on 12th September 2004 is the last opportunity
this season to get involved in CTC’s popular Challenge Ride series. The
Challenge Rides help raise cash for CTC’s campaign work and the Cyclists’
Defence Fund – set up to defend and improve cyclists’ safety and legal
rights.

Run in conjunction with the Surrey League, the event offers a choice of
80km, 100km or 150km routes – all starting and finishing in East
Grinstead.

The Southern Challenge Ride will use sections of the Tour en Angleterre,
part of the Tour de France in 1994, which pass into the Ashdown Forest and
over the rolling Sussex Hills.

Commenting on the Southern Challenge, CTC president and TV commentator,
Phil Liggett, said: “This is a great opportunity to raise money to support
CTC’s valuable campaigning work while enjoying some truly spectacular
scenery.”

Entry to the ride costs £5 for CTC members and £7.50 for non-members. All participants will receive certificates, and special event merchandise will also be available.

For an entry form, sponsorship form, or for more details you can call Matt Mallinder at CTC on 01483 520746 or e-mail him

or you can write to:

If all else fails, entry to the race can also be arranged on the day.
