Lance Armstrong’s time trial bike stolen

Lance Armstrong’s time trial bike stolen

The Tour of California started last weekend but was marred by the theft of Lance Armstrong’s very unique Trek TTX time trial bike, plus three other Astana team bikes.

The four bikes were stolen from an unmarked van parked near the team’s hotel overnight. Armstrong broke the news through Twitter, saying “Whoa!! They just came to my room and said our truck was broken into and someone stole my time trial bike! Wtf?!? APB out to the twitterati.”

He followed up with a photo of his bike, a custom painted black and yellow decaled Trek TTX. The bike also featured prototype SRAM time trial shifters, 1090 R2C shifters, and a wireless SRM wattage meter, according to SRAM.

A reward is being offered.
