Marie Curie Cancer Care is proud to announce the launch of its latest cycle event-the Malin to Mizen Head Irish Cycle Challenge 2007. Setting off from Malin Head-Ireland’s most northerly point on June 9, 2007 all 55 cyclists will arrive six and a half days later at Mizen Head- the most southerly point in Ireland. The route takes in the amazing scenery of the west coast of Ireland with all participants cycling around 70 miles a day-making this a serious cycling challenge.
Marian Canavan who cycled the same route in 2004 for Marie Curie Cancer Care said; “If you’re looking for a cycling challenge in Ireland, then this could be for you. We raised over £22,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care. This money helps people with cancer, providing them with care at home or at their local Marie Curie Hospice. Marie Curie Cancer Care provided excellent nursing care for my father during the last days of his life. You can make a difference. Be part of this challenge.”
The End to End
Covering 440 miles the cycle route will take you through some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and will let you see all that Ireland has to offer; taking in stunning mountains, picturesque countryside, spectacular coastal peninsulas and craggy headlands by day, and traditional towns such as Donegal and Ballinasloe by night. Best of all you can experience all this while you get fit, tone your body and strengthen your heart.
The event is certainly going to be a physically challenging one but the rewards are enormous-just think how good you’ll feel having completed such an amazing personal challenge while knowing that you’ve helped raise a huge amount of money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
