Eleven weeks to go to the Northern Rock Cyclone and already entries are up 35% on last year at the same time with 1221 entries so far. Ride C of the Cyclone Challenge rides is proving to be very popular this year, with entries having already exceeded last year’s total. There will be a maximum number allowed on this ride.

Leazes Criteriums

Entries are now coming in for the Criteriums. This is going to be a spectacular evening of racing with some special surprises for spectators being planned. All will be revealed soon! It’s going to be a fun packed evening of entertainment for all. Anyone intending to race should not delay getting an entry as there are maximum numbers set for each event.

Beaumont Trophy

This year there will be a rolling road closure for the safety of the riders. Two Dutch Teams have already committed to the Elite race and this will spice up the action for the GB riders. The big question is: can Rob Hayles retain his title as event winner of 2008 or will one of the GB riders or even a Dutch rider take the title from him.
The route for the Beaumont stays the same but the order the riders tackle the laps differs this year and hitting the Ryals at 87mls may just throw a spanner in the works for some!
