Following a successful debut year on the road in 2004, long established British bike tour operator Saddle Skedaddle have pulled on the Lycra and fully committed to a brand new and exciting program of classic road bike tours for 2005. The new brochure is now available, and all trips are listed on the new look Skedaddle web site. The portfolio of classic road tours offers something for everyone, ranging from leisurely tours through Provence and Andalucia to UK based weekends, far flung adventures in South Africa, Malaysia and the USA, participation in some of the worlds most exciting events, and classic tours around the less visited gems of Europe. All the usual ‘on the road’ back up and excellent hospitality that is associated with Skedaddle cycling holidays.
For example the Grand Tour of the Med is a distinctly varied adventure, with heaps of great and classic riding along the way. Starting out by riding the classic Col d’Eze of Nice we then set sail for the beautiful island of Corsica. From here we embark on an eyewatering tour around the dramatic northern coastline before heading through the high central mountains en-route to the coast to make our crossing to Tuscany, in Italy. Following a visit to the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa we ride out from the historic walled city of Lucca through the dramatic vine-lined hills of the north of Tuscany before hitting the slopes of the Cinque Terra, Italy’s most enchanting coastline.
We finish off our grand circular tour with a final sprint along the glitzy coastline of the Italian Riviera before ultimately returning to Nice Sounds great.
