The Innertube set to burst onto your PC screen

Cycling TV have joined together with Tacx, MapMyRide and a range of industry experts to launch a weekly magazine show named The Innertube, fronted by presenter and former resident RCUK writer Rebecca Charlton.

Each week viewers will be able to watch the studio guests – from a pool of riders, industry insiders and journo’s (yes we may be making an appearance soon) – offer expert insight with topical chat on everything from commuting trends up to the Pro Tour controversies. We’re also told there will be plenty of nice kit to look at too as the Things That Make You Go Oooh section focuses on all things high-end.

The Tacx Challenge is where you may see us enter the fray at some point in the season and looks to make the studio guests work for their complimentary cup of coffee. All those who make an appearance on The Innertube will record a time over a 2.3km hill climb, measuring their max power and time in the virtual world created by Tacx. Local London riders Ben Spurrier and James Wakelin were the first to put down a time and we hear the benchmark is set at 3m 30s by Team Mule Bar’s James, hitting 523 watts on the way up.

Fans Around The World will be another regular feature which showcases clubs from, well… all around the world. If any of you fancy grabbing some footage on a digi-cam or a mobile phone Cycling TV want to see how things roll on your club-run, whether that’s essentially tea drinking or hard fought through-and-off, so send those potentially Oscar-winning films into [email protected] (actually, the raw footage will do…they’ll edit it for you!).

You can catch the full show on cycling.tv and there’s also a shortened teaser on YouTube.
