Route is on the ride website |
The Roses Round ride takes place on Sunday July 20th, starting from Tosside village hall near Clitheroe, Lancashire.
There are two routes: the longer route covers approximately 74 miles whilst the shorter route is closer to 32 miles. Helmets are strongly recommended due to the steep descents found on the course.
The start location, on the edge of Gisburn Forest, will have a range of activities for children and family members including short orienteering courses for families to ride or walk from the village hall and maps are available for free from registration. You can then ‘chill out’ in the café afterwards!
The route will be marked with signs and road markings and there are two food stops on the long route and one on the short route.
Start times are between 8.30am and 10.00am; you choose your own start time but a maximum of 15 riders will be permitted to start every four minutes. Slower riders should start early to account for the extra time required to complete the distance while faster riders should start towards the end of the field to avoid early arrival at feedstops. 2007 ride times ranged from 3 hours 56 minutes to 6 hours 26 minutes for the long route.
Registration will be open from 7.30am in Tosside village hall to allow collection of your event number and any other information necessary on the morning of the event.
Cost is £15-00 and includes insurance. Enter online now atwww.activeeurope.com/Events.
