As the summer hots up, so does the Sunday Sportive season, with the latest round taking place this weekend form Letcombe Regis near Wantage and covering 140km of the Oxfordshire and Wiltshire Downs.

The course is a real cracker, the Oxfordshire & Wiltshire downs are all laid out for you, with their wide sweeping views, long open roads and rolling hills. It’s a sportive to savour; one that sets you the challenges and gives you the flow and the rhythm to meet them. Summer days on the bike don’t get much better than this!

At the moment there are still spaces left on the event and, for the first time this year, there may even be spaces available on the day. Sunday Sportives places have been selling like hot cakes this year though, and the organisers are still recommending booking in advance if you want to guarantee your place.

“We’ve sold out our first three events this year,” says Trail Break, “and, while we have enough parking capacity to allow a slightly higher event number this year, we know that demand in this last week will be high. We’ll announce whether there will be any on the day spaces on the website on Thursday, when advance entry closes. But if you want to guarantee a place, we recommend booking before then.”

After Wantage, the series continues at Woodcote, north of Reading on August 16th, the last event before the season headlining 1500 rider Southern Sportive on the South Downs on September 13th. All events feature a choice of three distances, comprehensive route marking, full rider timing and results service, multiple support and feed stations and vehicle back up, with entry prices starting at just £14.
