British Cycling have revealed the route for the professional road race element of the Twinings Pro-Am Tour in Wiltshire.
The 101-mile race on Sunday August 28, the latest addition to the Premier Calender series, takes in four laps of a 17-mile circuit, which includes the climbs of Fovant Down and Windwhistle, before six laps of a 5.5-mile finishing loop in Wilton.
The race is part of a weekend of cycling that includes a sportive on the Saturday, where riders can choose from either a 60-mile (entry £25) or 100-mile route (£30).
A 15-mile family ride (£10 for adults, £5 for children) will also take place, providing the perfect introduction for newcomers on the county’s quiet roads.
Rapha Condor Sharp, Motorpoint, Endura, Raleigh and SigmaSport-Specialized are among the British domestic teams due to go head-to-head in the pro race, while former Paris-Roubaix and Tour de France stage winner Magnus Backstedt will lead Team UK Youth.
The weekend will raise money for Save the Children, Help for Heroes and Naomi House children’s hospice. For more information on the weekend and to enter the sportive, head to www.twiningstour.com
