British Cycling has just announced the launch of its new Level 1 Coaching Course following a successful piloting period, with the first of the series of courses located in Manchester’s National Cycling Centre on 16th April and 14th May. The entry-level course is aimed at people that have little experience of coaching or cycling; such as parents, scout/guide leaders and teaching assistants.
Steve May from Hillingdon Slipstreamers, who recently put 10 of their club members through the first Level 1 course, said
“The Level 1 course has really fired up the new coaches into action, with several wishing to move on to the Level 2 as soon as possible. We also have a growing list of new volunteers who have seen the positive impact of the Level 1 course and wish to sign up to attend the course.”
The 2005 programme for the Level 1 courses is as follows:
Manchester Day 1: 16th April Day 2: 14th May
Loughborough Day 1: 4th June Day 2: 25th June
Sheffield Day 1: 10th September Day 2: 8th October
