Brush up on your early season training for the upcoming sportive season by attending the Sportstest Successful Sportive Seminar, taking place on Sunday 8 March at 4pm.
Following the release of his book, ‘Cycling: Successful Sportive’, Dr Garry Palmer offers a 4-hour seminar that focuses on key aspects of preparing for sportives.
Sportive riders who would benefit from the session are likely to have events like the Raid Pyrenean, the Etape and the Marmotte, this summer as their main objective, but it will equally be of value to novice sportivers, or those looking to ride UK events only.
Dr Palmer will cover essential topics in the first session, including:
1. Determinants of performance
2. Identification of goals and aims
3. Plan of training phases
4. Effective training
5. Building a training programme
6. Why train with a heart rate monitor?
The second part of session will focus on Optimal Nutrition Strategy for sportive participants. To finish, there will be ample opportunity to ask specific question.
Places are limited to just 20, and costs £25. Book no by calling 01384 700 99 or book online at www.sportstest.co.uk/successful_seminars.htm
