2. Michal Kwiatkowski (Etixx-QuickStep)
Michal Kwiatkowski is another Strava user at Etixx-QuickStep, having started to regularly upload his rides at the back-end of last season.
Luckily for his fans, that was just in time to record his stage-winning Tour of Britain ride into Bristol and then, two weeks later, the ride that earned him the rainbow jersey in Ponferrada.
The Polish ace’s data offered a fascinating insight into both Omega Pharma-Quickstep’s (as they were named then) team time trial attempt in Spain, and then his road race victory.
Unsurprisingly, Kwia’s Strava file shows how his time on the final climb of the race circuit was cut significantly as he attacked and stormed to the rainbow jersey. According to Strava, Kwiatkowski’s average weighted power for the race was 243 watts and his average heart rate was 148 beats per minute, with a maximum power output of 1,124 watts coming on the tenth of the 14 laps of the circuit.
Now a regular uploader, Kwiatkowski is likely to be chasing more one-day success this season alongside adding to his burgeoning reputation in stage races, too.
Like Terpstra, Kwiatkowski has also linked his Instagram account to Strava to show images from his training.
