The sight of Nacer Bouhanni (FDJ.fr) crossing the finishing line ahead of his sprinting rivals is becoming a regular occurrence at this year’s Giro d’Italia.
Since Marcel Kittel (Giant-Shimano) was forced to abandon with a fever, Bouhanni has dominated the bunch kicks, with the Frenchman’s stage ten victory his third of the race.
And it gives Bouhanni a commanding 24-point lead over nearest challenger Giacomo Nizzolo (Trek Factory Racing) in the race for the maglia rosso.
Cadel Evans (BMC Racing) remains in a strong position overall too, having finished ninth on the stage after to missing a late caused by Tyler Farrar (Garmin-Sharp), who took down a host of riders with 700 metres to go.
