They will be raising a cold one to Simon Gerrans in Australia tonight after the 33-year-old became the first man to ever win a Tour de France stage for an Australian team.
Set against the backdrop of the rolling Corsican hills, Gerrans pipped Peter Sagan (Cannondale) in a photo finish to write his name into Australian sporting folklore as the hundredth Tour de France raced in Corsica for the third and final time.
Jan Bakelants will leave the Mediterranean island in the yellow jersey though after a strong ride by his RadioShack-Leopard team mates in the peloton.
