The gleaming office towers of London’s Canary Wharf business district provided a suitably glamorous backdrop for the eighth round of the 2013 Pearl Izumi Tour Series.
Britain’s best teams sent out their star riders for combat on the 1.1km circuit around Canada and Cabot Squares, the London addresses of most of the world’s financial powerhouses.
The peloton registered its own power output, courtesy of watts-heavy riders like double Olympic champion, Ed Clancy (Rapha Condor JLT).
But it was Team UK Youth who crowned a perfect day’s racing with victory for Chris Opie in front of team owner, Nigel Mansell – another man used to measuring output in power produced.
