Sir Bradley Wiggins’ bid farewell to Team Sky at Paris-Roubaix after five-and-a-half seasons with the British WorldTour team.
The decision, announced back in January, ends one of the most important chapters in British cycle sport, and one which includes Wiggins becoming the first Briton to win the Tour de France.
Wiggins’ final fling saw him finish 18th, despite a peloton-splitting attack on sector seven – a low-key end to a career littered with highs and lows.
It has been a rollercoaster of results since the 34-year-old became Team Sky’s most high-profile signing ahead of the debut year in 2010.
