Anyone who’s followed our coverage of the Madison Genesis team’s spring training camp from Mallorca will have gained a better understanding of the personalities, roles, and responsibilities of some of the staff and riders on one of Britain’s biggest professional cycling teams.
Now you can ‘meet’ some of the protagonists of our colour features in this video from the training camp, which includes team manager, Roger Hammond, rising star, Scott Davies, and the owner of the Reynolds 953 Genesis Volare Team that starred in our ‘Pro bike’ feature – Pete Hawkins.
The film was shot at the Iberostar hotel in the Playa de Muro resort on the north side of the island – the temporary home each year for the WorldTour teams contesting the Challenge Mallorca early-season race.
Mallorca’s beautiful scenery and challenging climbs are the co-stars of a light-hearted, but revealing edit that encapsulates life for the team at their pre-season camp, following the riders from breakfast to dinner, with plenty of hard miles in between.
Hawkins is our guide, armed with his trusty GoPro camera, recording the moments that matter, from mid-ride coffee stop to post-ride massage.
The team is set to tackle the biggest events on the domestic calendar this season, including the Pearl Izumi Tour Series, the RideLondon-Surrey Classic, and the Tour of Britain.
