Giro di Lombardia 2016: TV schedule

When to watch the final Monument race of the season

The season’s final Monument – and final WorldTour race of the year – is set to be harder than ever this year after more tinkering with the route for Il Lombardia.

A hilly 240km course awaits on Saturday (October 1), with two new climbs among the route changes – Sant’Antonio Abbandonato and Miragolo San Salvatore.

Though 2015 champion Vincenzo Nibali is not racing, there is still no shortage of star quality set for the Lake Como startline, looking to join Arnaud Demare, Peter Sagan, Mat Hayman and Wout Poels on the list of Monument winners in 2016.

There’s added intrigue with WorldTour points up for grabs for the final time this season too, with Tinkoff bidding to finish their final season in the pro peloton with a flourish by leapfrogging Movistar atop the team standings.
