The season’s final Monument Classic, the Giro di Lombardia, rolls out on Saturday (October 7), as the climbers and rouleurs look to end their season on a high in Como.
Defending champion Johan Esteban Chaves (Orica-Scott) will miss the race through injury, but 2015 winner and pre-race favourite Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain-Merida) tops a strong list of contenders.
With a course focussed on steep climbs and a sweeping descent to the finish line, the race will reward attacking riders – and you can bet there will be no shortage of aggressive riding to enjoy.
