Britain’s first UCI race of the season, the Rutland-Melton International CiCLE Classic, proved to be an incident-packed spectacle as Tom Moses (Rapha Condor JLT) won solo.
Moses escaped from a leading group, which also included Tom Scully (Madison-Genesis) and Mark McNally (An Post-Chain Reaction) to solo to victory.
The Brit, 21, had been part of the day’s break, which formed after a frantic opening – with several riders having earlier made attempts off the front.

Scully’s second place meanwhile continued Madison-Genesis’ strong start to the season, following Alex Peters’ Tour of the Reservoir win.
The New Zealander overcame a puncture late on to earn second on the podium, edging McNally to second place.
And his team – managed by former national champion Roger Hammond – have released the inside story of their preparations and race, which you can view here.
