The Lincoln Grand Prix is among the most prestigious of all domestic races and this year’s edition lived up to all the hype.
With Britain’s top domestic road teams on the line, including four-time winner, Russell Downing (NFTO), the former Team Sky man, anticipation levels were high.
Roger Hammond’s Madison Genesis team were among the big hitters who rolled into Lincoln with their eyes on the prize.
After a highly-promising start to the season with victory for Alex Peters at the Tour of the Reservoir, and Tom Scully fourth at the Wiltshire Classic, the Milton Keynes squad were keen to add to their win tally on the technical and demanding course in Lincoln town centre and its immediate surroundings.
Multiple ascents of the brutal 1:8 cobbled climb of Michaelgate again put the riders on their mettle, and provided a suitable battle ground for a thrilling denouement, with a Madison Genesis rider at the heart of the final action.
Follow all the action from the road – and some impromptu juggling – in this edit from Madison-Genesis, with behind-the-scenes footage, and the view from Hammond’s team car.
