Jack Bauer became the latest pro cyclist to go full hulk on his beloved bike on Sunday, launching his Cannondale into a ditch at Gent-Wevelgem.
The New Zealander, who battled against the atrocious weather in Glasgow last year to win Commonwealth Games road race silver, cut a frustrated figure as fierce winds swept across Flanders during Gent-Wevelgem.
And when another rider’s jacket got tangled in his bike at the feed zone, it was the final straw for Bauer.
The 29-year-old has only been riding a Cannondale for a short time, after the merger between his former employers at Garmin-Sharp and Cannondale Pro Cycling.
Perhaps Bauer wanted his old Cervelo back? Either way, he was forced to retrieve his bike and publicly apologise for the incident.
