Tickets for the opening round of the 2013/14 UCI Track Cycling World Cup series at the National Cycling Centre, Manchester from November 1-3 go on sale this Thursday, August 1.
Great Britain’s track cycling elite will be going head-to-head with a host of international stars as they bid to rack up ranking points in order to qualify for next year’s World Championships.
Set against the backdrop of Manchester City FC’s Etihad Stadium, the 2002 Commonwealth Games stadium, the home of British Cycling will be hosting a World Cup event for the first time since 2011.
Among those hoping to compete is Olympic gold medallist Ed Clancy, and he said of the event: “Track World Cups here are always something special for the home fans.
“I hope to make the team for November, it’s something you don’t want to miss.”
The last World Cup event on British soil saw Glasgow hosting the second round of last year’s series at the newly-opened Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.
World-record breaking Olympic team pursuit champions Laura Trott and Dani King joined rising star Elinor Barker to take victory in the discipline at that event (pictured above) as Britain collected 102 points in all.
Tickets sold out within an hour of going on sale and spectators hoping to bag a spot in Manchester are urged to book early to avoid disappointment.
The tickets go on sale from 11am, via Ticketmaster, and there are four price bands available, with spectators able to choose their seat before purchasing.
Spectators can choose between a premium view, value for money seat or standing tickets, while families and under-16s can enjoy discounts on the admission price and hospitality packages are also available.
