UCI WorldTour 2014: five predictions for the new season

Which stars will shine on professional cycling's biggest stages next season?

Moreno Moser (Cannondale)

Upcoming Italian ace Moreno Moser endured a frustrating 2013 due to injury and illness, but his Cannondale team rate the 23-year-old very highly. His Strade Bianche victory, when he beat off opposition including Greg van Avermaet and Fabian Cancellara, thanks to a perfect support ride from team-mate Peter Sagan, points to a bright future.

With the team having finalised their plans for 2014, Moser appears likely to lead their charge in the Ardennes Classics as bosses feel he is well-suited to the hilly one-day races. Damiano Caruso, Daniele Ratto and Alessandro De Marchi will be among his supporting cast in those races, and the Amstel Gold Race could represent the perfect opportunity for Moser.
