UCI WorldTour 2015: race calendar

Alejandro Valverde and Movistar defend world number one titles

The 2015 UCI WorldTour is almost upon us, with teams heading to Adelaide to get the new season under way at the Santos Tour Down Under on January 20.

With the Tour of Beijing dropped from the WorldTour this year, the 17 teams in pro cycling’s top division will compete for points in 27 races this year including the five one-day Monuments and the Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and Vuelta a Espana.

Alejandro Valverde (Movistar) was crowned world number one last year, while Joaquim Rodriguez (Katusha) will be keen to fight back and claim a fourth crown in six years this time out.

Meanwhile, Movistar, boasting the likes of Valverde and Giro d’Italia champion Nairo Quintana, will be bidding to top the team rankings for the third consecutive year.
