The new UCI WorldTour season is underway in Adelaide, with stage one of the Tour Down Under seeing Jack Bobridge (UniSA-Australia) triumph from the break.
Last season we saw a number of riders use on-bike cameras to bring us wheel-to-wheel action from inside the peloton and that looks set to continue in 2015, with the newly-formed Velon group putting broadcast innovation high on the agenda.
Jeremy Roy (FDJ.fr) was the man to ride with a camera on stage one of the Tour Down Under, providing a peloton’s-eye view from the Frenchman’s bike.
Check out the highlights in the video above, which sees the peloton tackle the climb of Checker Hill and a number of riders nearly get caught out by a fast, sharp bend as the chase heats up.
Roy finished in the peloton on a day when the break succeeded, meaning stage winner Bobridge will wear the ochre jersey on stage two.
