An aerodynamically-efficient head covering is the time triallist’s friend. It is the only form of fairing allowed on the rider’s form and, worn correctly, significantly reduces the air drag of any cyclist whose head is higher than his or her shoulders when in the TT riding position. That means all but a very small percentage…
Bell’s Meteor II design combines wind tunnel-tested aerodynamics with a Fusion In-mould constructed EPS liner to provide “class-leading” protection in the event of a crash. The helmet has an adjustable positioning/fit system and a total of 10 vents to provide adequate ventilation without impinging on airflow. The ears are covered by close-fitting lobes to ensure clean airflow around the sides of the helmet.
Three colourways are available, one of them the livery of Bell-sponsored Team Saxo Bank, which lists Olympic TT champion Fabian Cancellara on its roster. No small recommendation, that.
