The London Cycling Campaign will be offering practical advice and information to all potential users of the London Cycle Hire Scheme when it goes live on the 30th of July. Welcoming the first large-scale cycle hire scheme in Britain, LCC’s Campaigns Manager Tom Bogdanowicz said; “The arrival of London Cycle Hire Scheme will be a unique event for the capital: everyone in the city will have an opportunity to try cycling and enjoy its benefits. The cycle hire bikes have every chance of becoming as iconic in London as the red double decker bus.”

LCC provides information to the public about all cycling matters and, in partnership with TransportforLondon, developed the very popular free series of 14  London cycling maps (Local Cycle Guides). LCC’s Cycling Development Officer, Charlie Lloyd said;  “We welcome Cycle Hire as an environmentally friendly addition to London Transport. LCC stands ready to assist anyone who needs advice on cycling in the capital and we will be directing users of cycle hire bikes to the best cycle routes, cycle training schemes and free guided rides.”

London Cycling Campaign is a volunteer-led charity with more than 10,000 members. Its vision is to make London a world-class cycling city. There are more than 800,000 regular cycle users in London.  LCC works to improve cycling in London and also provides services to its members, including:
