The construction of contemporary carbon road frames takes place using a variety of techniques.
We travelled recently to the Time Sport factory, near Lyon to see the processes used by the French company in manufacturing their high-end frames.
We saw carbon spun on giant looms, mounted on wax moulds, frozen, compressed, heated, sanded, painted, varnished, stickered and boxed.
It was a fascinating visit, one ended with a ride through the glorious Rhône-Alpes countryside aboard the fruit of Time’s carbon looms.
