Here’s your chance to ride alongside double Olympic gold medallist Geraint Thomas, who, with Ed Clancy, Peter Kennaugh and Steven Burke, romped to team pursuit victory at London 2012 on Friday.
The Team Sky rider is an ambassador for the Etape Cymru, an epic, lung-busting, leg-aching 92-mile sportive set to take place on Sunday September 9.
We will pick five winners, each of whom will win entry into the end-of-season event, and will join Thomas on a private team ride.
The Etape Cymru route has received some major modifications from the 2011 edition; starting and finishing in Wrexham and passing through the Clwydian Range (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), the updated course covers 92 miles of challenging terrain and takes in a host of tough climbs, including the legendary Horseshoe Pass.
Thomas said: “The Etape Cymru is one of the toughest closed road events in Britain and as a proud Welshman I am delighted to support it. The 92-mile route offers cyclists a challenging but fabulous opportunity to enjoy our spectacular Welsh scenery in the safety of a closed road environment.
“Good luck to all the entrants, cycle hard, keep smiling and enjoy your day and the north Wales hospitality.”
