Entries for the first Cape Rouleur, a three-stage sportive in South Africa, will open on Tuesday October 9.
The inaugural event, organised by HotChillee, the team behind London-Paris, will take place on March 3-7 2013.
The Cape Rouleur covers 475km, with 6,475m of climbing, taking riders through stunning South African scenery in the Western Cape.
In addition to the three stages of the Cape Rouleur, there is a Festival Ride on March 7 from Franschhoek to Cape Town, where riders will be met by a champagne reception on the Cape Town waterfront.
Riders will also receive seeded entry for the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour on March 10; a 109km ride which attracts 35,000 riders, making it the world’s largest sportive.
HotChillee founder Sven Thiele said: “Adding the Cape Rouleur to our Global Events Series will give the HotChillee community the chance to ride in a safe, fun and professional event in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
“The test run earlier this year was a huge success and we’ve been warmly welcomed by everyone in South Africa. Those riding are sure to have an unforgettable cycling experience.”
