Four-rider team time trial added to Tour of Cambridgeshire

Registration for closed-road team chrono now open

A closed road four-rider team time trial has been added to the Tour of Cambridgeshire Gran Fondo and Chrono line-up, and is due to take place on Saturday June 3, 2017.

The Tour of Cambridgeshire Team Chrono will follow the individual time trial on the first day of the two-day closed road event, and follow the same 26.55km route.

A total of 100 start places, across four categories – male, female, mixed and corporate – are available.

Riders wanting to take part will be required to use standard road bikes with standard road helmets as organisers strive to keep a level playing field.

Golazo Cycling Limited CEO Tom Caldwell is hugely optimistic about the addition of the team time trial, and said: “We see this new event at the Tour of Cambridgeshire as the first step towards the UK having an event to exceed the Duo Normand, the famous late season two up time trial in France which many British riders go over for.

“A key difference for the Tour of Cambridgeshire Team Chrono, besides the obvious number of riders in each team, is that in Cambridgeshire the roads will be closed.”

Entry per team is £120 and pre-registration opens today (Monday November 14). Head to www.tourofcambridgeshire.com for more details or to enter.
