Fourteen cycling resolutions for 2014

What's on your to-do list for 2014?

Buy a new bike

Ok, it’s not always as easy as walking into your local bike shop and picking out a shiny new steed – the financial constraints of life often dictate otherwise – but by putting away a small amount, say £20 a week, you’ll have £1,000 by the end of the year to put towards a new bike or to upgrade your current machine.

Save a little a week and you could have a lot to spend by the end of the year

Or think of it this way. Can you cut something else out of your life to save for a new bike? Drink less alcohol, quit smoking, commute by bike instead of taking the train and put the money towards a new bike, a shiny set of wheels or a summer cycling holiday.
