Strava has changed the way we ride.
There’s no shortage of apps to record your ride but Strava is, by some distance in our opinion, the best. It’s like Marmite – you either love it or hate it, but, in our experience, most love it.
If you’re not familiar with Strava then, first, where have you been hiding? And second, here’s what you need to know: Strava lets cyclists (and runners, for that matter) track their rides via GPS using the app or a Garmin (or similar) computer. You can then share that ride with your followers and see how your times rank on ‘segments’ created by users.
That’s only to scratch the surface of what has become a regular part of our ride routine, whether that’s searching for new routes, comparing times on a segment, or logging training rides.
It’s not perfect – and we’ve noted a couple of areas where there’s room for improvement – but, by and large, it’s a terrific tool which has added plenty to our enjoyment of getting out on the bike. Here are six things we love about Strava.
