Own a shed with a difference

Reg at the Velodrome

British Cycling Facilities Manager Dave Cockram has received an interesting offer – he has been given first refusal on an historic building, which in its own way was an important cycling “facility” in the not too distant past.

A woman from Levenshulme, a suburb of Manchester, called to say that she owns the brick-built shed which sprint legend Reg Harris used to keep his bikes in and that it is going free to a good home – new owner to collect.

If there’s anyone out there who fancies getting their hands on this historic building, they can contact Dave. He had been negotiating to have the shed re-built inside the velodrome in Manchester, but came up against unexpected opposition from the facility manager.

So, if anyone out there wants a brick shed with a difference… you know who to call.

Who is Reg Harris?
