Colomba Charity Ride

Ben Swift will attend the Colomba Charity Ride

The upcoming Colomba Charity Ride (14 November) is the brainchild of 19-year-old Robert Knibbs, diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a form of cancer affecting the Lymph system, a year ago, and who decided to organise a fundraiser to try and help others who may be fighting similar illnesses.

The dream of the event representing the values that carried Robert though his successful battle against cancer began to be realised when Colomba Cycle Company came on board as sponsor and offered to help with promotion, logistics and the cost of organising such an event.

Taking place in the Yorkshire Dales, the ride is 65 miles long and takes in a variety of rolling and hilly terrain, including the formidable Park Rash (but thankfully downhill) The ride HQ is the delightful Georgian town of Richmond, a perfect location to make a weekend of it.

Enlisted to lend their support are some of Great Britain’s top young professionals including Ben Swift, Geraint Thomas and Alex Dowsett, Robert has selected a route that is demanding but not too ridiculous for the time of year, through some of his favourite cycling scenery.
