The Etape will not be taking entries directly through their website or by post for 2005. This means that you will have to order your trip through a designated travel agent and there’ll only be a couple of these in the UK. The route will be announced on the 28th of October. Keep checking back as we will have more news on who, where and what will be happening…

43rd Three Peaks
Rob Jebb won the three peaks Cyclo Cross race yesterday for the fourth year running. He won by a good margin over ‘veteran’ international mountain biker Nick Craig. The fell runner/cross expert romped home over eight minutes clear of Craig. Peak’s legend Chris Young was first Veteran and Louise Robinson was first woman in 4 hours, a very respectable time for the gruelling grovel over the Yorkshire countryside. A full report to come.

Tricky Dicky retires
Richard Virenque has retired. He decided to quit whilst he was ahead and that he had proved his point with an excellent comeback from the Festina mess. Like him or loathe him we will miss his attacking style and bobbing climbing. He is to stay with his current team as a PR man.
